Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc is one of the best anime films I’ve seen in a long time — gorgeously animated, emotionally gripping, and packed with electrifying action! I almost skipped it, but I’m so glad I didn’t! It’s advertised as a continuation of the anime series, and I hadn’t watched the show yet. But when I learned that Season 1 was just twelve 20-minute episodes, I binge-watched the whole thing in three days. And I’m so glad I did — it made this movie an even more rewarding experience.

The Chainsaw Man anime itself is solid. I thought the story could get repetitive at times — action battle after action battle — but the characters, especially the protagonist Denji, really carry it. Denji is such a relatable guy. His journey — from his first crush to his first kiss — feels so true to those awkward, exciting moments of teenage love. And when he transforms into Chainsaw Man, he’s just such a visually striking and fun hero to watch.

Now, onto the movie — Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc is a wonderful continuation of that world. It’s a film that newcomers could follow, but it definitely helps if you’ve seen the first season. You’ll have a deeper emotional connection to Denji and a better understanding of his relationships.

The first hour is a beautifully animated love story. Denji meets Reze, and the two share a genuine, tender connection — from hanging out at a coffee shop to swimming lessons. It’s innocent, heartfelt, and incredibly relatable. But Denji’s caught between his feelings for Makima and this new girl who’s turning his world upside down. That internal conflict is what makes him so compelling — and so human.

Then comes the twist. I won’t spoil anything, but it’s razor-sharp and shocking. From that moment on, the movie shifts gears — from a love story to a full-blown, high-octane action spectacle that feels like Terminator 2: Judgment Day meets anime insanity. The villains are fierce, the stakes are high, and the animation absolutely shines.

The animation itself is breathtaking — it’s so refreshing to see anime on the big screen with this level of polish. The music deserves huge credit too, seamlessly transitioning from soft, romantic melodies to intense, heavy-metal tracks during the action. It gives the film an incredible energy.

If I had a couple of small critiques: there’s one character whose power reveal feels a bit misleading — the movie hides their strength early on in a way that felt slightly manipulative, but it does make for a great surprise later. Also, once the big action starts, it barely lets up. It’s thrilling but a tad too long for me — trimming 10 or 15 minutes might’ve made it tighter without losing impact.

Still, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc is an exciting, beautifully told continuation that fans will absolutely love — and even casual viewers can jump into. It’s got heart, humor, romance, and pure anime adrenaline.

I love how much of a “guy’s guy” Denji is — his curiosity, his flaws, and how women constantly shape his life. It’s funny, relatable, and full of heart.

Final Verdict:Blends heartfelt romance with explosive action. A thrilling continuation that fans will love — and even newcomers can enjoy.
